Radoslav Bogoev, a representative of the organization, took part in the Second National Academy of Fact-Checking, which was held in the period of October 6-8 in the city of Veliko Tarnovo.
The training was developed by fact-checking experts from Factcheck.bg, together with representatives of the American Institute for Media Research "Pointer". The aim of the training was to prepare journalists from the regional media and active members of the civil sector to recognize and counter disinformation.
Basic principles and working with modern fact-checking tools were included in the training. Participants were introduced to fact-checking tools - photo, video, site ownership, geolocation, and more, then as part of the training, participants worked on real-life fact-checking cases and practiced fact-checking text writing.
In the modern world of development of the media space, it is extremely important to be able to keep the media ecosystem clean, to not allow disinformation and political and informational propaganda to take a veil over factually based information.
The Fact-Checking Academy assembled a community in which journalists, journalism professors, and students, representatives of non-governmental and civil society organizations continue to interact with each other in a fact-checking network.
